How to keep your kids and family healthy this winter
Germs are everywhere! Whether you’re in Washington D.C. or Boston, daycares and schools are getting hit hard with illnesses this season. Picture this this: your sweet child cooked breakfast with the help of an adult and joyfully brings it to you. What could be cuter than a labor of love from your little one? Until they sneeze directly all over their beautiful creation. After months of isolation from covid, we are all witnessing our weakened immune systems rear their ugly heads.
For our family in Boston, school is back in full swing now, and chances are, the children in your care have already come down with a case of the sniffles. Even though it can feel like a losing battle, we are here to give a few tips for stopping germs in their tracks.
Keep little hands clean!
Soap and water are still the best line of defense against spreading germs. Get in the habit of washing your toddlers hands after playing with toys.
Wipes, Wipes, Wipes!
I don’t know about you, but I carry wipes everywhere I go. You may feel like you’re overdoing it, but I promise it pays off when your families health is in tip top shape. Wipe down the restaurant tables before eating and the shopping carts before getting groceries! I have my designated wipes for the stroller, diaper bag, and even my purse.
Eat a balanced diet!
This is an easy way to ensure that you and your toddler are getting all of the necessary nutrients for a healthy immune system. Fruits, vegetables, meats, dairy, and whole grains will keep everyone healthy and happy!
Stay safe and healthy this flu season!
